Summary
Takao Kasuga is an unsociable middle school student who bears a love for books—in particular, Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal. He also has a crush on his class' idol, the sweet Nanako Saeki. In stark contrast to her, Sawa Nakamura is an insolent and unpleasant girl who lacks any concern for school.One day, Takao forgets to bring his book home with him. He returns to school to retrieve it, but is stopped in his tracks when he finds Nanako’s freshly worn gym clothes lying on the floor. A strange desire consumes Takao, and like a wicked pervert, he steals them.
With the guilt of his crime weighing on him, Takao tries his best to live a normal life. Sawa, however, who witnessed Takao’s thievery, has other plans in store for him…

Aku no Hana was published in English as The Flowers of Evil by Vertical Inc. from May 8, 2012, to October 14, 2014. The publisher later rereleased the series in omnibus volumes. It was also published in Italian by Panini Comics from November 9, 2013, to February 7, 2015; in Spanish by Norma Editorial from September 26, 2014, to July 22, 2016; in French by Ki-oon from January 12, 2017, to July 5, 2018; and in Brazilian Portuguese by NewPOP Editora since March 31, 2022.

Summary
Takao Kasuga, a high school student fascinated by poetry, reveres Charles Baudelaire and even decorates his room with the poet's portrait. On a normal day, Takao forgets his copy of The Flowers of Evil in the classroom. When returning to retrieve it, he steals the sports garments of Nanako Saeki—a model student who Takao calls his muse and a femme fatale.Deeply ashamed of his act which he sees as a sin and what others see as a crime, Takao realizes with horror that Sawa Nakamura, his classmate and social outcast, knows about his theft. Blackmailed by her, Takao is now forced to partake in Sawa’s disturbing fantasies, lest she reveals his deeds to everyone. Caught in a negative spiral of increasingly traumatic experiences, will Takao be able to break free from Sawa’s thorns and atone for his sins?
