Summary
Fifteen years ago, God has abandoned the world. Humans are no longer born, the dead no longer dies. In this desolate world, the only ones who can give peace to the dead are the "gravekeepers." On this day, the gravekeeper Ai meets her destiny. Hampine, a man with red eyes, astonishing beauty and silver hair and calling himself the "man-eating toy" appears in front of her. Ai embarks on a journey with him after he kills everyone in the village, believing him to be her father.

Fifteen years ago, Earth was abandoned by God. Since then, no creature has been able to give birth nor fully die, leading to a dire catastrophe. Appearing as humanity's last hope, only gravekeepers are capable of giving peace to the "dead"—resurrected humans who degenerate over time.In a small village situated beside the mountains, a little girl named Ai lives her life blissfully, serving her duty as the village’s gravekeeper. However, tranquility shifts with the arrival of an eccentric, enigmatic individual: Hampnie Hambart, the “Man-eating Toy,” whom Ai claims to be her father. Hampnie murders all the residents in Ai’s village, leaving her completely alone and traumatized. With no place left to call home, she decides to follow Hampnie on his journey.
